Position: Junior Quantity Surveyor (Infrastructure)

Job Purpose:

Junior Quantity Surveyor (Infrastructure)

To support the commercial and quantity surveying activities of infrastructure projects, including quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, cost estimation, measurement of completed works, subcontractor valuations and progress payment documentation. The candidate will assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor in monitoring project costs and ensuring accurate commercial records throughout project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in preparing quantity take-offs and measurements for infrastructure and civil construction works.

Review project drawings, specifications and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) to understand project scope and requirements.

Prepare and update BOQs, material quantity calculations and cost estimates under the guidance of the Senior Quantity Surveyor.

Assist in measuring and verifying completed site works for interim payment applications.

Support the preparation and submission of Interim Payment Applications (IPAs) and progress payment certificates.

Assist in reviewing subcontractor quotations, invoices, payment applications and variation claims.

Maintain records of project quantities, measurements, variations and cost-related documentation.

Coordinate with site engineers, planning teams, procurement and project management teams to obtain project progress and quantity information.

Assist in identifying variations and additional works and maintaining variation registers.

Support the preparation of monthly cost reports and project commercial reports.

Assist in material reconciliation and monitoring actual quantities against BOQ quantities.

Maintain accurate records of measurements, site instructions, work orders and contractual correspondence.

Assist in preparing tender documents, rate analysis and cost comparisons when required.

Ensure all quantity surveying activities are carried out in accordance with project specifications, contractual requirements and company procedures.

Infrastructure Project Exposure:
The candidate should have exposure to one or more of the following infrastructure activities:
Road construction, Earthworks, Stormwater drainage, Sewerage and wastewater networks, Water supply pipelines, Wet and dry utility networks.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering.
Minimum 2-4 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying within the construction industry.
Previous experience working with an infrastructure contractor, main contractor, civil construction company or real estate developer is preferred.
Basic understanding of infrastructure projects, BOQs, quantity take-offs and cost estimation.
UAE/GCC construction experience is an advantage.
