Editorial Projects Coordinator at Sharjah Art Foundation

Sharjah Art Foundation is seeking an Editorial Projects Coordinator to join its team and contribute to the development of innovative print and digital editorial initiatives. In this full-time role, the coordinator will support projects such as critical writing fellowships, publications, podcasts, and blogs—offering creative input while managing logistical and administrative coordination. The position involves close collaboration with internal departments and external partners to execute the foundation’s content strategy and bring projects to fruition.

Applicants should possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field, along with at least five years of experience in editorial, publishing, or content creation. Strong writing and editing skills are essential, and experience within cultural or arts institutions is preferred.

• Write and edit content across the Foundation’s print and digital platforms, including contributing to texts used as part of open calls, social media posts, press releases, overviews, forewords, scripts, interviews, news items and reports.
• Offer proposals and ideas for the development of new print and digital editorial projects including critical writing fellowships, publications, podcasts and blogs.
• Oversee logistical coordination and provide administrative support for various projects to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
• Maintain consistency in content quality and adherence to the Foundation’s established style and standards.
• Assist in preparing the budget for editorial projects, track expenses and invoices with the finance team.
• Work with colleagues from different departments and sections in the foundation to develop and execute the established content strategy.
• Work with external organisations to help execute projects for the Foundation.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English Language, Literature or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in editorial, publishing, content creation.
• Previous experience working in cultural institutions, museums, or arts organizations (preferred).
• Knowledge (on the level of an educated native speaker) of British English syntax, vocabulary, punctuation and spelling.
• Skill in writing and editing different types of texts.
• Skill in understanding tone, format, language, ideas communicated across different print and digital platforms.
• Proficency in Microsoft Word, including Markup, and Outlook.
• Proven ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks and deliver results under pressure in fast-paced environments.
• Creative problem-solving skills.
• High level of concentration and attention to detail.
• Methodical and well‑organised approach to work.
• Tact and diplomacy in working with others.

The role is a full-time position based in Sharjah, with working hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Thursday. Before Sharjah Biennials and other major exhibitions and events, additional work may be required.
