Overview

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) in the College of Engineering at American University of Sharjah (AUS) invites applications for an adjunct teaching opportunity commencing in Fall Semester 2026 in the area of computer science and engineering. Experience in the American model of higher education is highly desirable.

The applicant is expected to teach one to two courses per semester at the AUS campus in Sharjah. Courses are typically offered during the day, two or three days a week.

• PhD in Computer Engineering or a closely related field.
• Evidence of a significant teaching portfolio.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has approximately 850 undergraduate students, 30 graduate students, 25 faculty and 11 lab instructors. Students and faculty represent very diverse backgrounds and nationalities; more than 90 nationalities are present on campus. The department offers a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, a Master of Science in Computer Engineering, a Master of Science in Machine Learning, in addition to a joint PhD program in Electrical and Computer Engineering.

AUS is licensed and its programs are accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation of the Ministry of Education s Higher Education Affairs Division in the United Arab Emirates. AUS has been accredited in the United States of America by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education since June 2004. The Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering offered by the College of Engineering is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, and the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science offered by the College of Engineering is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET.
