Regular or Visiting Faculty Civil Engineering

Overview

The Department of Civil Engineering (CVE) in the College of Engineering at American University of Sharjah (AUS) invites applications for a regular or visiting faculty position at the assistant, associate or full professor level commencing in Fall Semester 2026.

• Regular: three-year renewable contract
• Visiting: one-year renewable contract

• Regular faculty: establish a high level, active research program supported by internal and external funding sources.
• Visiting faculty: primarily focused on teaching.

Applicants must have a PhD in Civil Engineering or a closely related field and demonstrate a significant teaching portfolio. Excellence in teaching and research, in addition to experience in the American model of higher education, is highly desirable.

Regular position: specialty in construction engineering and management and/or digital construction.

Visiting position: any specialty within civil engineering.

The Department of Civil Engineering has approximately 150 undergraduate students, 65 graduate students, 15 full-time faculty and 2 lab instructors. Students and faculty represent diverse backgrounds, with about 90 nationalities present on campus.
