Job PurposeThe Department of Chemistry, College of Sciences is seeking a self-motivated and proactive Lecturer in General Chemistry or closely related discipline to join our academic team in the academic year commencing September 2026. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in teaching Remedial Chemistry and Practical Chemistry courses (labs) at the higher education/university level and hands‑on experience in Wet Chemistry and instrumentation.
Preference will be given to UAE Nationals.
- Deliver high‑quality instruction in theoretical and practical courses in Chemistry, including coordinating laboratory activities and teaching.
- Provide academic and professional advising and mentorship to students, supporting their educational and professional development.
- Participate in the design, review, and enhancement of academic programs and curricula within the department.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of assessment tools and processes to evaluate student learning outcomes.
- Contribute to community services, outreach activities and students' extracurricular activities.
- Maintain and manage laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
- Contribute to the development of instructional methodologies and integrate use of digital tools, IT systems, and AI‑enhanced learning platforms.
- Ensure laboratory health and safety protocols are implemented, regularly reviewed, and updated in accordance with institutional and regulatory standards.
- B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Chemistry from a recognized academic institution, preferably from top 200 Universities.
- Fluency in the English Language in both writing and orally.
- At least 1 year of teaching Chemistry experimental/practical labs at the University level.
- Proficiency in using various Chemistry techniques and instruments.
- Preferred experience in IR, NMR, Raman, and XPS.
- Experience in Industrial Chemistry, Food Chemistry and Quality Control.
- Preferred knowledge in data acquisition using Lab View.
