The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering (CHBE) in the College of Engineering at the American University of Sharjah (AUS) invites applications for a Regular faculty position or a visiting faculty position at the assistant, associate, or full professor level commencing in Fall 2026.
Applicants are required to have a PhD in Chemical or Biological Engineering or a closely related field and be able to demonstrate a significant teaching portfolio. Backgrounds in Biological Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or Biotechnology are preferred. Excellence in teaching and research, as well as experience in the American model of higher education, are highly desirable.

The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering has approximately 200 undergraduate students, 15 graduate students, 12 full‑time faculty, and 3 lab instructors. Students and faculty represent very diverse backgrounds and nationalities; approximately 90 nationalities are present on campus. The department offers a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, a Bachelor of Science in Chemical and Biological Engineering, and a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering.
