The Learning Enhancement Teacher will work under the guidance of the Head of Learning Enhancement or Senior Leader to undertake the provision of comprehensive support to students with diverse learning needs in the secondary cohort. They will collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies in promoting an inclusive and supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities- To offer high quality and appropriate teaching support to students with diverse needs including those with learning difficulties, disabilities (both diagnosed and undiagnosed), behavioural challenges, and gifted and talented students.
- To effectively manage and develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs), in collaboration with teachers, parents, and specialists, to address students’ specific needs and goals.
- Liaise with external agencies and/or provide timely advice to parents in respect to external agencies to coordinate support services for students.
- Provide guidance and support to teachers in implementing differentiated and modified curriculum to meet the needs of the learners addressed above.
- Collaborate with parents to provide ongoing communication, support, and resources to enhance student well‑being and academic success.
- Bachelors / Post‑graduate studies in special education / inclusive education / other relevant subject.
- Valid teaching licence / current teaching registration preferably from Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, UK, US or Canada (e.g. VIT, QTS).
- Minimum 2 years of post‑qualification teaching experience at relevant age range and working in the field of special educational needs.
- Experience with the Australian curriculum is advantageous but not essential.
- Previous international teaching experience, particularly within the Middle East context, would be an advantage.
