Librarian

We are seeking a qualified and passionate Librarian to join our team in Sharjah UAE. As a Librarian you will be responsible for managing the library collection, providing reference and research assistance to patrons, and promoting literacy and education within the community.

• Manage and maintain the library collection, including selecting, purchasing, organizing, and cataloging materials.
• Provide reference and research assistance to library patrons.
• Plan and implement library programs and activities to promote literacy and education.
• Create engaging displays and exhibits to showcase library materials.
• Assist with circulation tasks such as checking books in/out, collecting fines, and registering new patrons.
• Train and supervise library staff and volunteers.
• Stay up-to-date with current trends in literature, technology, and library services.
• Collaborate with other departments or organizations to provide additional resources or services to patrons.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the library space.

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting.
• Strong knowledge of different types of literature, reference materials, and research tools.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with a diverse group of patrons.
• Proficient in using computer systems for cataloging and managing library materials.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.

• Contract position with a salary of $1600 per month.
