Librarian job in Sharjah UAE for foreigners

We are looking for a dynamic and organized Librarian to join our team at our library in Sharjah. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and organizing the library's collection of books, magazines, CDs, DVDs, and other materials. This position requires excellent organizational skills and customer service abilities.

The Librarian will be expected to work full-time (40 hours per week) and will receive a salary of 900 AED/month. We are open to considering foreign applicants for this position.

• Manage the library's cataloging system, including the cataloging of new materials and the updating of existing records
• Assist patrons with locating materials in the collection
• Recommend materials to patrons
• Answer reference questions from patrons
• Process requests for interlibrary loans
• Participate in outreach activities to promote library services
• Maintain records of circulation and patron registration
• Prepare lists of recommended reading material for various age groups
• Prepare book displays and exhibitions
• Assist in organizing special events such as book clubs or author talks

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field
• Previous experience working in a library setting is preferred but not required
• Knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of cataloging and classification systems, such as Dewey Decimal System or Library of Congress Classification System
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
