Librarian job vacancy in Sharjah UAE for unskilled worker

We are looking for a professional Librarian to work in Sharjah. The ideal candidate will have a passion for reading and organizing books and other materials. The candidate should be able to provide exemplary customer service, assist patrons with their research needs, and be able to keep the library organized and up-to-date. The Librarian will report directly to the Library Director.

Salary is 1700 AED per month. We are ready to consider an immigrant.

• Maintain accurate records of library materials, including check-in/check-out procedures
• Assist patrons in locating desired materials or provide appropriate reference sources
• Develop and implement library programs such as book clubs, reading groups, etc.
• Help patrons with their research needs by providing access to online databases
• Promote library services through outreach activities
• Monitor the circulation desk and ensure that all rules are followed
• Participate in book selection process by making recommendations based on patron requests
• Provide technical assistance with computers and other equipment used in the library

• Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science or related field
• Knowledge of current trends in library science and information technology
• Ability to use various software programs including Microsoft Office Suite, databases, etc.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Excellent organizational skills
