The Library in Sharjah is looking for an experienced and knowledgeable librarian to join our team.

The successful candidate must have a strong background in library science, as well as excellent customer service and communication skills. We are looking for someone with a passion for literature, research and information retrieval, who is able to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Organizing library materials, such as books, periodicals, and audio‑visual materials.
• Researching topics related to library resources.
• Preparing library materials for use.
• Assisting patrons in locating information.
• Cataloging materials.
• Maintaining circulation records.
• Supervising student assistants.
• Handling interlibrary loan requests.
• Developing library policies and procedures.
• Providing reference services to patrons.
• Training staff on the use of library equipment and technology tools.
• Developing online databases.
• Providing instruction in the use of online search tools.

• A degree or diploma in Library Science or a related field is required.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of Arabic would be beneficial but not necessary.

We are offering an attractive salary of 1400 monthly and other benefits including health insurance and transportation allowance.
