Librarian - Sharjah, UAE

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Librarian to join our team in Sharjah, UAE. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library resources, providing assistance to library patrons, and promoting literacy and learning within the community.

• Manage and organize the library's collection of books, magazines, journals, and other resources
• Develop and implement cataloging systems to ensure efficient access to materials
• Assist patrons with finding and accessing resources for research or leisure reading
• Create engaging displays and activities to promote literacy and reading among community members
• Plan and host events such as book clubs or author talks to engage the community in literature
• Maintain accurate records of library materials, circulation activity, and patron information
• Train and supervise library staff members in daily operations and customer service skills

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field (Master's preferred)
• Previous experience working in a library setting preferred
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic language skills a plus)
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Passion for literature, learning, and promoting literacy within the community
