Serving approximately 2,000 students from EYFS to Sixth Form, the school follows the English National Curriculum leading to IGCSE, AS and A Level qualifications. The roleThe Vice Principal will work closely with the Principal and Senior Leadership Team to provide strategic leadership across the school. The successful candidate will be a visible and inspirational leader who motivates staff, builds strong relationships with students and parents, and contributes to the continued growth and success of the school. While applications are welcomed from outstanding leaders across all phases, experience in primary leadership would be particularly advantageous.
Keyresponsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Support the Principal in implementing the school vision, strategic priorities, policies and improvement plans.
- Contribute to the development and review of school policies and procedures.
- Participate fully in Senior Leadership Team meetings and lead meetings in the Principal absence.
- Promote innovation and identify opportunities to improve school effectiveness.
- Support Heads of Section and middle leaders in maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.
- Assist with curriculum planning, implementation and evaluation.
- Support internal and external assessment processes and the analysis of school performance data.
- Assist in the recruitment, induction and retention of high-quality staff.
- Support the supervision, coaching and professional development of teaching and support staff.
- Contribute to performance management and professional growth planning.
- Promote high standards of behaviour, attendance and student wellbeing.
- Support Heads of Section with attendance, safeguarding and discipline matters.
- Work closely with inclusion teams and external agencies to support student needs.
- Develop strong partnerships with parents and the wider community.
- Support school events and communicate initiatives and achievements to stakeholders.
- Assist with school organisation, timetabling and staffing arrangements.
- Maintain a strong visible presence throughout the school.
- A recognised UK teaching qualification (PGCE,
B.Ed. or equivalent leading to Qualified Teacher Status). - A bachelor degree in a relevant subject.
- A minimum of five years successful senior leadership experience within a British curriculum school.
- A proven track record of raising standards and improving student outcomes.
- Extensive experience of leading teams and developing staff.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Strong knowledge of the English National Curriculum and British educational practice.
- Experience working in a culturally diverse international school environment.
- significant experience in primary school leadership, experience of leading whole-school improvement initiatives, and experience working within schools inspected by BSO or UAE regulatory bodies.
