The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at American University of Sharjah (AUS) is accepting applications for a full-time, regular faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing in August 2027. In exceptional cases, appointment at a higher rank may be considered. We welcome applications from outstanding candidates in all areas of mathematics; preference will be given to candidates specializing in algebra or applied mathematics.

All candidates must hold a PhD in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics. Applicants should demonstrate a solid and active research record, with evidence of quality publications and clear potential for sustained contributions to the field. Successful candidates will be expected to establish and maintain an active research program, supervise master's and PhD students, secure research grants, and engage in international collaborations. Evidence of excellence in teaching across all curriculum levels and strong communication skills in English are required.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in North American-style education.
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at AUS offers diverse programs, including a PhD in Mathematics, a Master of Science in Mathematics, a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, a Bachelor of Science in Data Science, and minors in applied and computational mathematics, actuarial mathematics, and data science. Our student body spans a wide range of nationalities and enjoys a diverse and inclusive environment.
