Applicants with strong research potential in data science are encouraged to apply. A PhD in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, or Applied Mathematics is required by the start date. Applicants should demonstrate a solid and active research record, with evidence of quality publications and clear potential for sustained contributions to the field. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an active research program, supervise graduate students, secure research grants and engage in international collaborations.
Experience in collaborating with industry on data science-related projects is highly desirable. Evidence of excellence in teaching across all levels of the curriculum and strong communication skills in English are required. Experience in North American-style higher education is highly desirable.
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at AUS offers diverse programs, including a PhD in Mathematics, a Master of Science in Mathematics, a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, a Bachelor of Science in Data Science, and minors in applied and computational mathematics, actuarial mathematics, and data science. Our student body covers a large array of nationalities and enjoys a diverse and inclusive environment.
