SCAN Electromechanical Cont. Co. LLC is a private EPC electrical contracting and trading company operating across the United Arab Emirates. The company specializes in supply and installation of overhead transmission lines, underground cables up to 220kV, transformers, substations, and electrical switch gear. Its management and supervisory teams bring over 20 years of experience, including the installation of approximately 600 km of cables across multiple voltage levels and fiber optic systems.

SCAN also trades and markets electrical equipment, maintaining its own warehouse and substantial stock of transformers, switch gear, feeder pillars, cables, and related accessories. The organization is strongly supported by major manufacturers and suppliers and is known for its focus on client satisfaction and reliable service.

The Health and Safety Officer is a full-time, hybrid role based in Sharjah, with flexibility for some work-from-home tasks. This role is responsible for implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures across project sites, warehouses, and offices to ensure compliance with local regulations and company standards. Daily activities include conducting risk assessments, site inspections, and safety audits, preparing and updating safety documentation, and reporting incidents, near-misses, and corrective actions.

The Health and Safety Officer will deliver safety inductions and ongoing training, promote safe working practices, and collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to address hazards and improve workplace safety. The role also involves maintaining records, supporting certification and regulatory requirements, and contributing to continuous improvement of the company's EHS performance.

• Candidates should possess strong Health & Safety and Workplace Safety skills, with proven experience in developing and applying safety procedures in industrial or construction environments.
• Candidates should possess expertise in Occupational Health and Environment Health and Safety (EHS), including risk assessment, incident investigation, and hazard control.
• Candidates should possess recognized health and safety certifications such as NEBOSH or equivalent, and a solid understanding of UAE or regional HSE regulations and standards.
• Candidates should possess effective communication and training skills, with the ability to coach diverse teams, prepare clear safety reports, and influence safe behavior on site.
• Candidates should possess strong organizational and analytical skills, proficiency in basic office software, and the ability to work collaboratively with engineering, operations, and management teams.
• A diploma or bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field, and prior experience in electrical contracting, EPC, or heavy industry environments are highly beneficial.
