Senior Pipeline Engineer

Wood is recruiting for a Senior Pipeline Engineer to join its UAE Business Unit focusing on preparing pipeline design deliverables for a Major Onshore Brownfield Project in Sharjah, UAE on a 5/2 work schedule. This is a full‑time, office‑based role in Sharjah.

This exciting opportunity is for an experienced Senior Pipeline Engineer.

• Prepare pipeline design deliverables
• Provide input to produce pipeline documents and drawings
• Complete pipeline design calculations (wall thickness, buoyancy, bending, etc.)
• Provide field engineering support for site surveys and data gathering
• Complete Material Take Offs and associated Material Requisition s
• Coordinate procurement bids and complete technical bid evaluations
• Identify optimisation and operating cost reduction opportunities
• Ensure construction and field modifications meet the requirements of all applicable codes, standards and regulations
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary activities such as PFD & P&’s
• Manage design team activities and assist Senior Designer and Engineers
• Co‑ordinate all activities related to pipeline discipline
• Travel to Basra, Iraq as required
• Promote safe behaviour at all times
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Caesar II/Autopipe and awareness of ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Navisworks

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Chemical, Mechanical or Pipeline Engineering
• Minimum of 10 years of experience
• Experience in building and producing engineering deliverables
• Experience working with multi‑national and multi‑cultural project teams
• Previous experience in the Middle East is an advantage
• Experience in sour service operations is an advantage
• Familiarity with typical software packages used for pipeline engineering design
