Job SummaryAl Marwan Developments is looking for a reliable and well‑organized Estimator Engineer (Roads & Infrastructure) to support daily administrative operations within the Construction division. The role requires strong communication skills, prior experience in the real estate industry, and the flexibility to work across different Sharjah locations as required.
Role PurposeTheimation Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate, timely, and competitive cost estimates for large-scale construction projects, specifically focusing on roads, infrastructure, and earthworks. You will manage the full tender lifecycle—from initial document analysis and quantity take-offs to final bid submission—ensuring all estimates align with technical requirements and company profitability targets.
Key Responsibilities Tender Analysis & Technical Review- Conduct comprehensive reviews of tender documents, including drawings, technical specifications, and project manuals.
- Identify potential risks, discrepancies, and scope gaps; manage the RFI (Request for Information) process to ensure clarity before submission.
- Perform site visits to assess local conditions, logistics, and constraints.
- Perform precise Quantity Take-offs from AutoCAD drawings.
- Build detailed unit rates for labor, plant, equipment, and materials.
- Calculate Project Preliminaries, including mobilization, site offices, and complex traffic diversion schemes.
- Utilize Candy (CCS) to build resources, worksheets, and final price structures.
- Prepare inquiry packages for subcontractors and suppliers.
- Critically evaluate incoming quotations for technical compliance and commercial competitiveness.
- Maintain a robust database of local vendors and current market rates.
- Finalize the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and ensure all tender forms are completed accurately.
- Participate in "First Principles" estimating reviews with senior management.
- Assist in post-tender clarifications and negotiations with clients/consultants.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
- Minimum 5 years of total experience.
- At least 3 years of hands‑on experience in UAE roads and infrastructure projects.
- Advanced proficiency in Candy (CCS), AutoCAD, and MS Excel.
- Strong understanding of FIDIC contracts and UAE local authority requirements (RTA, DEWA, DM, ADM, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- High attention to detail with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Effective communication and coordination skills across internal teams and external stakeholders.
