Job Description
WSP Middle East is hiring a Consultant – Fire & Life Safety for our growing F&LS Team in the UAE. The role focuses on supporting fire safety design, preparing authority submissions, conducting site inspections, and ensuring compliance with the UAE Fire & Life Safety Code and Civil Defense requirements.
Responsibilities- Assist in developing fire protection system designs across UAE-based projects (fire alarms, suppression, fire stopping).
- Prepare and support design submissions, calculations, and fire strategy reports in coordination with senior engineers.
- Conduct site inspections, review contractor submissions, and support compliance with UAE Fire & Life Safety Code and DCD guidelines.
- Support fire risk assessments and mitigation strategies as required.
- Assist with testing, commissioning, and technical evaluations during construction.
- Coordinate with project teams, clients, and authorities for documentation and approvals.
- Contribute to proposals, technical documentation, and project presentations.
- Participate in training, technical workshops, and continuous skill development.
- Represent WSP at industry events to strengthen technical leadership and visibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related engineering disciplines.
- 4–7 years of UAE-based experience in fire & life safety engineering.
- Knowledge of the UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, DCD regulations, and international standards (NFPA, IBC, BS).
- Experience in fire alarm system layouts, fire protection design support, and authority submissions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Certifications (CFPS, CEng, or equivalent) are a plus but not mandatory.
