Civil Draughtsman – Roads & Drainage

We are seeking a highly skilled and exceptionally fast Civil Draughtsman specializing in Roads and Infrastructure Drainage to join our dynamic engineering team.

In this role, speed and precision are paramount. You will be responsible for handling drafting requirements across multiple concurrent projects, requiring an individual who thrives under tight deadlines, possesses sharp attention to detail, and can swiftly turn engineering concepts into flawless, production‑ready drawings.

• Drafting & Design:
  Prepare detailed alignment plans, longitudinal profiles, cross‑sections, grading plans, and structural details for roads, highways, and intersections.
• Drainage Networks:
  Draft comprehensive storm water, waste water, and catchment area drainage networks, including manholes, culverts, and catchment basins based on engineering calculations.
• Multi‑Project Execution:
  Swiftly manage and prioritize drafting workloads for multiple projects simultaneously without compromising design quality or local authority standards.
• Collaboration:
  
  Work closely with Civil and Infrastructure Engineers to interpret sketches, redlines, and design notes, turning them into structural CAD drawings.
• Quantity Take-offs:
  Assist the engineering team with basic quantity take‑offs directly from drawings when required.
• As‑Built Drawings:
  Update and maintain accurate as‑built drawings and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

• Experience:
  
  Minimum of 3–5 years of proven experience specifically in roads, highways, and infrastructure drainage drafting.
• Software Proficiency:
  Mastery of AutoCAD and Civil 3D is mandatory. Experience with Micro Station or GIS software is a plus.
• Speed & Efficiency: A proven track record of delivering high‑volume, accurate drafting work under tight schedules. Exceptional command of CAD shortcuts, templates, and dynamic blocks to maximize workflow efficiency.
• Technical Knowledge:
  Strong understanding of civil engineering principles related to road geometry, earthworks, and hydraulics/drainage.
• Standard Compliance:
  Thorough knowledge of local municipality standards, drafting conventions, and layer management.
• Education:
  
  Diploma in Civil Engineering, Draughtsmanship, or a related technical field.
