Overview

Wood is currently recruiting for a Rotational Support / Remote Engineer – Process to join its UAE business unit. This is a full‑time position in Sharjah, UAE. The role provides day‑to‑day Process Engineering support for site operations related queries, activities and risks to the delivery of safe, reliable and compliant operations. The engineer collaborates with a site‑based team to ensure that identified long‑term engineering solutions are progressed to the appropriate team, reducing risk and growing production.

Responsibilities
  • Perform day‑to‑day Process Engineering support to deliver immediate operations support, working closely with the site team to resolve issues under the direction of the Operations Engineering Manager.
  • Ensure that asset Process Engineering risks are understood, appropriately risk‑assessed, and actions driven to reduce risk within agreed time frames.
  • Define process system operating envelopes, monitor health of process equipment using operating envelopes, record and investigate excursions outside operating envelopes.
  • Monitor Process Engineering Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and initiate corrective action as necessary.
  • Provide Process Engineering support to technical Management of Change (MoCs) and Engineering Queries (EQs).
  • Identify production vulnerabilities and optimisation opportunities to support production forecast and growth.
  • Write, review and recommend technical input into Site Operations Procedures (SOPs).
  • Provide Process Engineering coaching to client engineers.
  • Generate, revise and review discipline technical documentation.

Qualifications Education
  • BSc or BEng or MEng (UK), BSc (US) or an international equivalent in Chemical Engineering or a relevant engineering subject.
Professional accreditation
  • Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer.
Experience and Job Requirements
  • Significant experience in an Operations Process Engineering support role with demonstrable onsite knowledge, including water treatment and cold gas processing.
  • Advanced technical knowledge and experience in engineering, with sound knowledge of the relevant industry codes, standards and regulations, and the ability to initiate guidance on the appropriate designs and systems to prevent, control and mitigate risks.
  • Sound stakeholder management experience.
