Job Responsibilities
- Organizing routine servicing schedules;
- Carrying out routine scheduled maintenance work;
- Responding to equipment faults and diagnosing breakdown problems;
- Controlling maintenance tools, stores, and equipment;
- Monitoring and controlling maintenance costs;
- Developing Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule and ensuring full PPM is carried out;
- Planning and addressing missed maintenance activities, leading the team to deliver effectively;
- Fixing faults or arranging for replacements to be installed;
- Dealing with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs;
- Inspecting and operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards;
- Ensuring routine calibration and maintenance requirements of a variety of electro‑mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems;
- Ensuring designated buildings, plants, and facilities are fit for purpose and providing proactive support solutions when required;
- Ensuring continuous cover of machinery and equipment in case of breakdowns;
- Managing the disposal process of obsolete machinery, plant and equipment from agreement to write‑off to physical removal and safe disposal;
- Identifying and deploying the technical skill sets, resource levels, and systems to deliver projects, including engagement of external resources as required;
- Updating mechanical engineering knowledge through educational opportunities, professional publications, networking and professional organizations;
- Maintaining complete maintenance records and reports, including instruction booklets and operations manuals;
- Coordinating with external vendors and service providers for inspection, installation and other plant‑related engineering jobs;
- Supervising technicians and helpers, ensuring proper PPE use and avoidance of unsafe conditions;
- Using permit‑to‑work system and ensuring permits are obtained before work starts;
- Promoting Health and Safety;
- Training subordinates on HSE and PPE usage.
- BE or B Tech in Electronics & Telecommunications or Instrumentation (knowledge of instrumentation preferred);
- Relevant 2–3 years of experience in a manufacturing company.
- Knowledge of PLC, SCADA, and DCS systems;
- Knowledge of CCTV, UPS, and IT systems;
- Familiarity with calibration and maintenance of field instrumentation and control systems;
- Experience with sensors, transmitters, control panels and field instrumentation;
- Basic knowledge of networking and communication protocols;
- Ability to read electrical and instrumentation drawings;
- Knowledge of preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance;
- Familiarity with SAP‑based maintenance system;
- Knowledge of ISO documentation;
- Good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
