Our client is a well-established UAE-based electrical trading, distribution and manufacturing company with decades of experience in the electrical industry.
The company has an established
LV switch gear manufacturing division
and supplies electrical products and customized switch gear solutions to major contractors, consultants, industrial clients and project companies across the UAE.
The Role
The client is looking for an experienced Switchgear Procurement Engineer
to manage the procurement of electrical and switch gear materials required for manufacturing and project requirements.
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of LV switch gear components, electrical panel materials, approved suppliers and the UAE electrical procurement market

This role requires someone who understands both the technical and commercial aspects of switch gear procurement

- Copper Busbars & Busbar Accessories
- Switchgear Components & Electrical Accessories
- Enclosures / Panel Boards
- Capacitor Banks, Reactors & Power Factor Correction Components
- Control Components, Meters & Protection Devices
- Cable Glands, Lugs and Internal Panel Accessories
Experience with major international electrical brands and their authorized distributors will be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities- Manage end-to-end procurement of LV switch gear components and electrical materials.
- Source and evaluate suppliers, manufacturers and authorized distributors in the UAE and overseas.
- Obtain and compare quotations based on price, quality, lead time, technical compliance and payment terms.
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms with suppliers.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key electrical and switch gear suppliers.
- Review technical specifications, BOMs and material requirements received from the engineering/manufacturing team.
- Ensure all procured materials meet project specifications and required standards.
- Coordinate with engineering, production, sales and warehouse teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Monitor purchase orders, supplier confirmations, lead times and deliveries.
- Identify alternative suppliers and equivalent products where required to improve cost and availability.
- Maintain an updated supplier database and evaluate supplier performance.
- Support cost-control initiatives and identify opportunities for improving procurement margins.
- Manage urgent procurement requirements while maintaining production and project schedules.
- Ensure proper documentation for quotations, purchase orders, delivery notes and supplier records.
- 5–7 years of UAE experience in procurement, preferably within switch gear manufacturing, electrical panel manufacturing or electrical trading.
- Strong practical knowledge of LV switch gear components and panel-building materials.
- Experience procuring electrical components from UAE suppliers and distributors.
- Established network of electrical manufacturers, distributors, stockists and authorized dealers is highly preferred.
- Ability to understand BOMs, technical specifications, datasheets and electrical component requirements.
- Strong negotiation and supplier-management skills.
- Good understanding of pricing, lead times, stock availability and payment terms.
- Experience working with ERP/procurement systems and MS Excel.
- Electrical Engineering / Electrical Diploma qualification is preferred.
- UAE market experience is essential.

Candidates currently working with switch gear manufacturers, panel builders, electrical distributors, electrical trading companies or major electrical suppliers will be strongly preferred.
