1. Organizes and controls the integration of International Signaling network Core equipment and systems enhancements into existing Etisalat Core structure.
2. Coordinates and controls the preparation of technical specifications for equipment and systems at international Signaling & Voice network layer
3. Coordinates the analysis and review of key performance indicators of Fixed Core equipment and systems at International Signaling & Voice Layer
4. Interfaces with vendors, various Etisalat departments and consultants on IGW Planning issues as required
5. Participates in tendering and negotiation procedures as required in order to support the implementation of planned technical upgrade/ enhancement initiatives
6. Keeps abreast of new technologies, systems and developments related to IGW Network
7. Manages, monitors and evaluates the section’s on-going performance and quality of its output and services
8. Design and Plan international Control plane (Signaling Solutions) by taking into account performance requirement, redundancy, reliability and signaling volume
9. Coordinates for the dimensioning of all nodes (Soft Switches, Media Gateways, Signaling Gateways, Signaling Transfer points, Session Border Controllers etc.) in the international Voice network according to the capacity requirement
10. Coordinates with Network Security for implementing Security Solutions in international Voice networks
11. Coordinates with Carrier and wholesale section to get forecasts for all types of international signaling requirement (Low-Speed Links, High-Speed links & SIGTRAN)
12. Plan capacity for SIP Session Border Controller the basis of current Signaling utilization and forecast for internal and external customers
13. Plan capacity for International Signaling Transfer Points on the basis of current Signaling utilization and forecast for international customers
14. Plan capacity of the international Voice network nodes for IP and TDM trunks requirements for other International operators
15. Plan capacity for Diameter Session Router on the basis of current Signaling utilization and forecast for internal and external customers
16. Manages the Network readiness for Special events in terms of capacity handling
