Since its inception in 2010, National Reference Laboratory (NRL) has expanded from a single standalone reference laboratory to a network of 12 state‑of‑the‑art facilities across the United Arab Emirates. NRL provides world‑class diagnostic services to the M42 network and partners with more than 250 clients from a wide range of market segments, including private and government hospitals, medical centers and clinics, corporate organizations, and other reference laboratories.
The Medical Laboratory Technologist is responsible for performing specialized laboratory tests on patient specimens and ensuring accurate, timely, and reliable results to support quality patient care. The role also involves maintaining laboratory equipment, following quality and safety standards, and ensuring compliance with M42 and DOH/DHA requirements.
Responsibilities- Perform and process specialized laboratory tests on patient specimens in accordance with established procedures.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and reliable validation and reporting of laboratory results.
- Perform quality control activities and take corrective action when required.
- Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Ensure proper handling, processing, and storage of patient specimens to maintain their integrity.
- Maintain compliance with M42, DOH/DHA policies, laboratory standards, and safety regulations.
- Prioritize testing based on clinical urgency and patient care requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory quality and operational efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, or an equivalent qualification requiring at least two years of training.
- OR graduation from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) program leading to registration with ASCP, ASCLS, CSMLS, AIMS, or another recognized IFBLS institution.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and quality control practices.
- Ability to operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
- Strong attention to detail with a high commitment to accuracy, quality, and patient safety.
- Ability to work effectively in a clinical laboratory environment and comply with applicable regulatory requirements.
