The Neurophysiology Technician is responsible for performing and assisting with neurophysiology diagnostic procedures, preparing patients for testing, operating specialized equipment, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality neurodiagnostic services. The role contributes to timely diagnosis and effective patient care while ensuring compliance with clinical and safety standards.
Responsibilities- Perform neurophysiology diagnostic procedures such as EEG, EMG, NCS, and other assigned tests.
- Prepare patients for procedures and provide clear instructions before, during, and after testing.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot neurophysiology equipment.
- Ensure accurate documentation and timely reporting of test results.
- Maintain patient safety, privacy, and infection control standards.
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments for diagnostic procedures.
- Monitor equipment inventory and report maintenance requirements.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to support patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental audits.
- Comply with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of Applied Sciences majoring in Neurophysiology or Biophysics/Physiology or equivalent (minimum three (3) years course duration)
- Valid UAE license as Electro-Neurodiagnostics Technologist.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in neurophysiology or neurodiagnostic services preferred.
- Knowledge of EEG, EMG, NCS, and other neurophysiology diagnostic procedures.
- Proficiency in operating neurophysiology equipment and related software.
- Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
