Senior Network & Security Engineer UAE

Position Summary

A prestigious UAE government entity is seeking an experienced Senior Network & Security Engineer to design, implement, secure, and optimize enterprise network and cybersecurity infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the availability, resilience, integrity, and confidentiality of mission-critical government services while supporting complex enterprise networking and information security environments.

As a Senior Network & Security Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting, deploying, managing, and securing enterprise network infrastructure across routing, switching, wireless, SD-WAN, security platforms, and security operations technologies. You will work closely with infrastructure teams, cybersecurity teams, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver secure and highly available services aligned with government and enterprise security frameworks. The role requires extensive expertise in enterprise networking, cybersecurity engineering, security operations, governance frameworks, and advanced troubleshooting.

You will contribute to strategic projects involving network modernization, security enhancement, compliance initiatives, and operational excellence within a highly regulated environment. • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network and security infrastructure.
• Manage enterprise routing and switching environments supporting critical services.
• Configure and support BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, STP, VRF, SD-WAN, and wireless LAN technologies.
• Design and maintain highly available network architectures and load-balanced environments.
• Deploy, manage, and optimize enterprise security platforms.
• Administer Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, and Cisco Firepower security solutions.
• Manage IPS, IDS, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), proxy services, web filtering, and NAC platforms.
• Support security operations technologies including SIEM, EDR, PAM, and vulnerability management systems.
• Manage core enterprise services including DNS, DHCP, IPAM, and VPN platforms.
• Conduct root cause analysis and resolve complex network and security incidents.
• Ensure compliance with UAE and international cybersecurity governance frameworks.
• Support risk assessments, security audits, infrastructure hardening, and security improvements.
• Create and maintain network diagrams, security documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and project teams on network and security initiatives.
• Participate in infrastructure upgrades, migration projects, and business continuity planning.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in networking and cybersecurity engineering.
• Minimum 3 years in a senior, lead, or leadership capacity.
• Strong expertise in enterprise routing and switching technologies.
• Advanced knowledge of BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, STP, and VRF.
• Experience with wireless LAN, SD-WAN, and load balancing technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, and Cisco Firepower platforms.
• Knowledge of IPS, IDS, WAF, proxy filtering, web security, and NAC solutions.
• Experience supporting SIEM, EDR, PAM, and vulnerability management solutions.
• Strong understanding of DNS, DHCP, IPAM, and enterprise VPN technologies.
• Excellent troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and incident resolution capabilities.
• Strong documentation, reporting, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Experience supporting large enterprise or government environments.

• At least one of the following certifications is mandatory:

• CompTIA Security+
• ISO 27001 Lead Implementer
• ISO 27001 Lead Auditor

• UAE IA Standards (NESA / SIA)
