Translator (Engineering & Consulting Background Preferred) Job Description
WSP in the Middle East is seeking a motivated Technical Translator to support project and corporate teams across the region.
Responsibilities- Translate documents between Arabic and English with accuracy, clarity, and cultural understanding.
- Handle translation of tender documentation, contracts, technical reports, correspondence, and presentations.
- Collaborate with subject‑matter experts, engineers, and project teams to ensure precise translation of technical concepts and terminology.
- Maintain consistency in style, terminology, and messaging across all Arabic and English documents.
- Support bilingual communication for internal teams, clients, vendors, and external stakeholders.
- Ensure confidentiality and professional handling of sensitive documents.
- Assist with administrative, documentation, and coordination tasks as required.
- Use the latest translation tools and terminology references to ensure consistency and quality across all deliverables.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Linguistics, Translation, English, Arabic, Communications, Business, or relevant fields).
- 6+ years of relevant work experience, ideally within engineering, technical, consultancy, or corporate environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in translation.
- Ability to understand and translate technical terminology; engineering background is a plus.
- Experience in working with vendors, documentation control, and formal professional communication is advantageous.
- Excellent Arabic–English / English–Arabic translation capability.
- Strong understanding of grammar, writing standards, and bilingual technical terminology.
- Familiarity with engineering and technical documentation (advantageous).
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Ability to use translation and terminology tools.
