Senior Extrusion Operator | Al Bayader International | UAE

Al Bayader International is actively seeking an experienced and technical Senior Extrusion Operator to join our growing production team in Sharjah, UAE on a full-time permanent on-site basis. In this critical manufacturing role, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting advanced extrusion lines, ensuring optimal sheet/film quality and high production efficiency in the packaging industry. You will leverage your deep specialist expertise in polymer extrusion, temperature profiling, gauge control, and equipment maintenance to drive manufacturing excellence.

As a Senior Extrusion Operator supporting advanced packaging manufacturing at Al Bayader International in Sharjah, you will take full operational and technical ownership of extrusion line setups, material feeding, thermal profiling, and finished roll/sheet quality. Your day-to-day responsibilities include calibrating die gaps, monitoring extruder screw speeds and pressures, conducting quality inspections for thickness and tensile strength, troubleshooting extrusion anomalies, and guiding junior operators.

You will utilize your proactive, hands-on technical skills to minimize waste and maximize output.

• Operate, monitor, and adjust advanced plastic extrusion lines, sheet lines, or blown film lines in a high-volume packaging plant.
• Set up temperature profiles, barrel heats, die temperatures, screw speeds, and haul-off rates according to technical recipes.
• Monitor extrusion output quality, thickness gauge uniformity, width specifications, and winding tension continuously.
• Perform efficient material changes, resin blending, color masterbatch dosing, and die cleaning operations.
• Troubleshoot extrusion defects (e.g., gel spots, surging, thickness variation, gauge bands) and execute immediate corrective actions.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, filter screen changes, die maintenance, and mechanical inspections.
• Maintain meticulous shift logs, raw material usage records, waste reports, and quality inspection checklists.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical support to junior extrusion operators and assistants on the shop floor.

• Technical Diploma or High School Diploma with specialized vocational training in plastics processing or mechanical technology.
• Minimum of 4 to 6 years of progressive professional experience operating plastic extrusion lines within the packaging or plastics manufacturing industry.
• Strong practical hands-on expertise in single-screw/twin-screw extruders, sheet dies, chill rolls, and winding systems.
• In-depth knowledge of thermoplastic resins (PP, PS, PE, PET) and polymer rheology.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
• Mandatory legal work eligibility in the United Arab Emirates with local residency and availability for on-site operations in Sharjah.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multi-tasking capabilities in fast-paced industrial environments.
• High professional accountability, attention to safety protocols, and dedication to minimizing scrap rates.

• Prior professional working experience in multinational packaging corporations or thermoforming sheet extrusion plants.
• Familiarity with automated scrap recycling and regrind systems.
• Understanding of ISO quality management and food-grade packaging hygiene standards.
• Flexibility to work in rotating shift patterns.
