Material QA/QC Engineer

Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Material QA/QC Engineer to join our supervision team in Sharjah for a major Roads and Infrastructure project associated with Etihad Rail.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all construction materials used on the project comply with contractual specifications, approved standards, authority requirements, and quality management procedures. The role requires extensive experience in material inspection, testing, approval processes, and coordination with laboratories, contractors, and relevant authorities.
Key Responsibilities- Review and approve material submittals in accordance with project specifications and authority requirements.
- Monitor and oversee material testing activities conducted at site and approved laboratories.
- Verify compliance of construction materials with approved standards, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate with contractors, laboratories, and project stakeholders regarding material approvals and testing.
- Ensure all inspection and testing activities are properly documented and maintained.
- Review material test reports and recommend acceptance or rejection of materials.
- Conduct site inspections to verify quality compliance of materials delivered and incorporated into the works.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures.
- Witness field and laboratory testing activities as required.
- Monitor corrective actions for non-conforming materials and quality-related issues.
- Prepare periodic quality reports and maintain quality records.
- Coordinate with Sharjah authorities and SRTA regarding approvals and material compliance requirements.
- Support Resident Engineer in achieving project quality objectives.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
- Professional certifications related to Quality Management or Material Engineering will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 12 to 15 years of professional experience in Civil Engineering projects.
- Proven experience in Roads and Infrastructure Projects
. - Strong experience in material inspection, testing, and quality control procedures.
- Previous experience working on UAE infrastructure projects.
- Experience dealing with Sharjah Municipality Authorities and SRTA is mandatory/preferred.
- Experience in construction supervision consultancy projects is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with UAE standards, specifications, and authority requirements.

- Ability to work effectively under project deadlines.
The Material QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all construction materials used on the project meet the required quality standards, project specifications, and authority requirements. The role involves managing material approvals, conducting inspections, reviewing laboratory test results, coordinating with contractors and authorities, and ensuring the successful implementation of project QA/QC procedures throughout the construction phase.
