Painting Inspector with BGAS NACE Level 2 certification to join our team in Abu Dhabi.
The candidate should have a strong background in paint shop inspection for structural steel and industrial coating works with a minimum of 4 years of hands‑on experience after obtaining Level 2 certification.
The role will involve day‑to‑day inspection of surface preparation and painting activities ensuring that the work is carried out in accordance with approved procedures, project specifications and required quality standards.
Responsibilities- Carry out inspection of surface preparation and abrasive blasting activities
- Check surface cleanliness, surface profile and environmental conditions before painting
- Monitor paint mixing, application, curing and recoat intervals
- Perform and record DFT measurements and other required coating inspections
- Check paint materials, batch numbers, shelf life and approved paint systems
- Identify coating defects and follow up on necessary rectification
- Review inspection requirements against approved ITP method statements and paint manufacturer’s data sheets
- Prepare daily inspection reports and maintain coating inspection records
- Coordinate with production, QC, client and third-party inspectors during inspection activities
- Ensure all painting activities meet project requirements and applicable coating standards
- Support final inspection and release of completed painted components
BGAS / NACE Level 2 Painting Inspector certification - valid certification required.
Requirements- Minimum 4 years of paint shop inspection experience after Level 2 certification.
- Experience in structural steel / industrial painting and coating inspection.
- Good practical knowledge of abrasive blasting, surface preparation and paint application.
- Experience in DFT measurement and coating inspection equipment.
- Knowledge of relevant coating standards such as ISO 8501, ISO 8502, ISO 8503 and ISO 12944.
- Ability to understand and follow project specifications, coating procedures and inspection requirements.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
