Position: Part-time Research Assistant (Qualitative Research)

The University of Sharjah is seeking a Part‑time Research Assistant to support an ongoing qualitative research project. This opportunity is suitable for candidates with a strong academic background and practical experience in qualitative research methods, data collection, and analysis within healthcare or public health fields.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support ongoing qualitative research activities and project requirements.
  • Conduct interviews and focus group discussions as part of data collection.
  • Assist with thematic analysis and interpretation of qualitative data.
  • Use qualitative data analysis software for research organization and analysis.
  • Support documentation, reporting, and preparation of research materials.
  • Travel across the UAE for research data collection activities when required.
  • Contribute to research outputs and academic publications.
Requirements
  • Currently residing in the United Arab Emirates.
  • Native Arabic speaker with excellent Arabic and English communication skills.
  • Master's Degree in Public Health is preferred, or a related Health Sciences, Medical, or Healthcare discipline.
  • Experience conducting qualitative research, including interviews, focus groups, and thematic analysis.
  • Experience using qualitative data analysis software such as NVivo, MAXQDA, or ATLAS.ti.
  • Previous record of research publications involving qualitative research.
  • Willingness to travel across the UAE for data collection.
  • Strong research, communication, and analytical skills.
Strong Knowledge of
  • Qualitative research methodologies and data collection techniques.
  • Thematic analysis and qualitative data interpretation.
  • Research software including NVivo, MAXQDA, and ATLAS.ti.
  • Master's Degree in Public Health (Preferred) or a Related Health Sciences, Medical, or Healthcare Discipline
