We are seeking an experienced and proactive Fruits & Vegetables Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the Fresh Produce Department across our supermarket branches in the UAE. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of fresh fruits and vegetables, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to maintain high standards of product quality, merchandising, inventory control, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the Fruits & Vegetables Department.
- Lead, train, and motivate the department team to ensure high productivity and excellent performance.
- Ensure fresh produce is displayed attractively and replenished regularly in accordance with company merchandising standards.
- Inspect product quality daily and promptly remove damaged, expired, or spoiled items.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse to ensure timely stock replenishment.
- Minimise product wastage by implementing proper stock rotation (FIFO) and effective inventory control.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety throughout the department.
- Monitor sales performance and implement merchandising initiatives to maximise sales and profitability.
- Assist customers with product enquiries and deliver excellent customer service.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and health and safety regulations.
- Prepare daily operational reports and coordinate with the Fresh Food Manager regarding team performance.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in the Fruits & Vegetables Department of a supermarket or hypermarket.
- At least 1–2 years of supervisory experience in the retail industry.
- Strong knowledge of fresh produce handling, storage, quality control, merchandising, and inventory management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Basic computer proficiency for reporting and inventory management.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Applicants must currently be based in the UAE.
