Key Roles & Responsibilities Instruction & Coaching
Plan and deliver age-appropriate swimming lessons for students across various grade levels.
Teach basic to advanced swimming techniques, including strokes, breathing, floating, and water safety skills.
Identify individual student abilities and provide differentiated coaching support.
Prepare students for inter-house, inter-school, and CBSE-affiliated swimming competitions where applicable.
Ensure strict adherence to pool safety rules and school safeguarding policies.
Closely supervise students during swimming sessions to prevent accidents or injuries.
Conduct regular headcounts before, during, and after pool sessions.
Administer basic first aid and respond effectively to emergencies.
Align swimming activities with the CBSE Physical & Health Education framework.
Maintain student progress records and provide feedback to PE teachers and parents when required.
Support holistic student development by promoting teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
Ensure swimming equipment is used correctly and stored safely.
Coordinate with school management to maintain pool hygiene, water quality, and safety standards.
Report any safety hazards, maintenance issues, or equipment damage promptly.
Work collaboratively with PE teachers, class teachers, and school leadership.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding swimming schedules and expectations.
Support school events, sports days, and extracurricular activities as required.
Certification in Swimming Coaching from a recognized authority - ASCA, etc.
Lifeguard certification and valid First Aid/CPR certification.
Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a swimming coach, preferably in a school setting.
Experience working with CBSE schools or structured school curricula.
Knowledge of child safeguarding and school compliance requirements.
