Overview

To conduct assigned flights in accordance with the detailed provisions of the Airline Operational Manual and in compliance with the respective civil aviation authority related regulations. He/she must ensure ultimate safety, security, and efficiency are achieved throughout all operated flights; supports and guides the flight/cabin crew, handle emergencies and ad-hoc scenarios effectively, and takes control over the flight to ensure successful performance and positive corporate image.

• Fly the assigned aircraft from one destination to another in accordance with the given schedules and approved flight plans; act as the ultimate responsible for the aircraft during the assigned flights, prioritizing safety, efficiency, and passenger comfort.
• Ensure that assigned flights are conducted in accordance with the Airline’s Operations Manual and regulations; implement, monitor, and maintain procedures to ensure safe and smooth operation of the aircraft.
• Ensure timely attendance, proper grooming, fitness and legality of self and Flight Crew for the assigned flights. Conduct pre-flight briefing to ensure crew are informed with flight details and procedures are followed.
• Liaise with co-pilots (First Officer and Second Officer) and Dispatch Team prior to each flight to ensure flight/cabin crew are prepared and informed (aircraft technical status, route preferences, weather, fuel, weight, distribution of roles, etc.).
• Ensure, within safety constraints, that the aircraft is flown to optimize fuel use during the flight.
• Ensure safety, security, fuel, and transit checks are carried out for each flight by the Flight/Cabin crew; direct the crew on how to react to safety or security irregularities and escalate when needed.
• Cooperate with Maintenance Engineers to confirm aircraft technical status and its suitability to fly; seek support of MCC and MROs to address concerns and identify defects or issues; implement rectification or corrective measures where applicable.
• Ensure all required documents and technical logs are completed with accurate data per Airline and civil aviation authority regulations (including technical logbook, journey book, boarding sheets, reports, etc.).
• Ensure the Airline Operations Manual is distributed, accounted for, maintained, kept up to date, understood and complied with by Flight Crew.
• Keep up-to-date with the legal requirements of regulatory bodies (civil aviation authority, Airbus, and other relevant bodies) relating to flights and Flight Crew.
• Undertake additional ground-based tasks such as Safety Officer or Security Officer as directed by the line manager and in accordance with Part A of the Airline’s Operations Manual.

• Appropriate ATPL License is required.
• Must pass the technical/psychometric assessment for Pilots as per airline and civil aviation authority standards.
• Must pass the Medical Fitness check-up as per airline and civil aviation authority standards.
• Training in safety and emergency response is essential; formal qualification is an advantage.
• Basic Airport security procedures and regulations training is an advantage.
• Crew Resources Management Training is considered an advantage.
• IATA principles & standards relating to security is an advantage.
• Proficient in aircraft systems; proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical reports, writing, and presentations.
• Very good in English; knowledge of other local languages is an advantage.

• Minimum of 4000 hours of flying experience;
  Airbus A320 experience preferred.
• Experience with low-cost airlines is highly desirable.
• Usable industry knowledge in aircraft systems and operating procedures.
• Ability to handle other roles such as security or safety-related roles as required by airline and regulatory authorities.
• Exposure to QA/Safety/Security/Audit procedures related to Flight Operations.
• Capable of implementing policies, procedures, and manuals as per approved standards and regulations.
• Ability to perform in a changing environment with heavy workloads and ad-hoc scenarios.
• Composed, self-confident and focused; capable of handling emergencies and threats efficiently.
• Strong analytical skills to identify pitfalls and recommend cost-effective solutions.
• Cost-conscious with effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
