KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Source, negotiate and fix Dry Bulk, Container, Feeder and MPP vessels
Execute Voyage Charters (VC), Time Charters (TC) and Slot Charter agreements
Negotiate directly with shipowners, operators, shipbrokers and liner operators
Develop dedicated vessel solutions for high-volume containerized ferrous scrap movements
Prepare voyage estimates and optimize freight cost per metric ton
Manage Charter parties, laycan, NOR, laytime, demurrage/dispatch and dead freight
Monitor bunker prices, Baltic indices, PDAs and vessel availability
Coordinate loading, draft surveys, stowage, stevedores, surveyors and port agents
Manage container payload, floor-loading and heavy-weight restrictions
Identify backhaul cargo opportunities and maximize vessel utilization
Oversee voyage profitability, claims and final voyage reconciliation
12-14+ years of direct commercial vessel chartering experience
Strong UAE/GCC shipping market experience is essential
Proven track record of independently fixing vessels
Hands-on experience in both dry bulk and container vessel chartering
Established network of shipowners, vessel operators, shipbrokers, liner operators and port agencies
Experience in UAE-Pakistan, UAE-India and GCC-South Asia trade lanes highly preferred
Strong knowledge of ferrous scrap cargoes including HMS 1&2, sheared HMS, shredded scrap, bales and turnings
Sound knowledge of Charter parties, Bills of Lading, Incoterms, P&I matters and marine claims
ICS qualification/membership will be an advantage
