Responsibilities
  • Maintain a regular weekly schedule of lessons and follow up with students/parents via take‑home notes.
  • Commit to teaching a minimum of one afternoon/evening lesson each weekday or one whole weekend day, consistently through the school year.
  • Show up on time for all lessons.
  • Communicate progress to parents/students regularly via progress reports.
  • Prepare students for optional recitals, held at least twice per year.
  • Report hours worked on Opus1 scheduling platform.
Qualifications
  • Passion for working with children and a "kid at heart" mindset.
  • Strong English language skills.
  • Bachelor’s in music performance or education preferred; experience with at least one year of teaching is also considered.
  • At least three references, preferably from families of former/current students or employers.
  • Ability to arrive on time at 2600 Massachusetts Ave, Lexington, or 9 Washington Place, Sharon, or both.
  • Availability for at least 4 hours per week in the afternoon/evening from September through June.
  • Non‑expired visa or legal documentation to work in the U.S.
Schedule & Hours

Locations: 2600 Massachusetts Ave, Lexington or 9 Washington Place, Sharon.

Hours of Operation:
Monday‑Friday: 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Saturday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Teachers may fill up to 30 hours per week, selecting one or more days based on demand. The school is open 48 weeks per year including summer.

Compensation

Hourly pay ranges from $36.50 to $43.00, depending on degrees, experience, and prior work with Maestro Musicians. Group piano lessons are paid at $51.00. Paid sick time and family medical leave are provided.
