Communications Specialist

Accurate Courier Services is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Communications Specialist to join our Cincinnati team. We have openings due to continued growth at our National Customer Communication Department.

We specialize in medical courier services, supporting healthcare organizations with deliveries that are often time-sensitive and critical. Our Communications team serves as the central point connecting our clients, drivers, and Operations teams to help ensure deliveries are entered correctly, monitored closely, and completed successfully.

This role combines three key functions: customer communication, quality assurance, and dispatch coordination.

Team members are cross-trained across all three areas and work together to identify potential issues, communicate effectively, and keep service moving. This is a fast-paced position for someone who can manage multiple priorities, pay attention to details, think through problems, and stay calm when circumstances change quickly.

What You'll Do
  • Answer incoming client and driver calls, enter orders, and provide delivery updates
  • Review and process routed and on-demand delivery orders
  • Complete Quality Assurance checks to identify missing, incorrect, or incomplete information
  • Monitor active routes and deliveries for delays, missed stops, or potential service issues
  • Assign and coordinate on-demand orders with drivers based on location, availability, timing, and delivery requirements
  • Communicate directly with drivers regarding assignments, pickups, deliveries, delays, and service issues
  • Identify potential problems early and take appropriate action to help keep deliveries on track
  • Investigate delivery issues and gather the information needed to resolve them
  • Coordinate with Operations and other team members when additional support or escalation is needed
  • Handle client concerns professionally and elevate issues when appropriate
  • Assist with service recovery when a delivery does not go as planned
  • Maintain accurate documentation of customer, driver, order, and delivery information
  • Follow established procedures while using good judgment when unexpected situations arise
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, drivers, coworkers, and Operations teams
What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of customer service, dispatch, logistics, call center, or similar experience preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities at once
  • Ability to problem-solve and make decisions in real time
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly
  • Comfortable using computers and learning new software and systems
  • Basic Microsoft Excel knowledge
  • Dependable with consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work overtime when needed

Previous medical courier or dispatch experience is helpful, but not required. We're looking for people who are dependable, curious, willing to learn, and capable of using good judgment.

Schedule

This is a full-time, on-site position at our Cincinnati location and is not remote.

Available shifts may include:
  • 2:00 PM-10:00 PM
  • 10:00 PM-6:00 AM
  • 6:00 AM-2:00 PM

Schedules may vary based on department needs.

Weekend availability is required. Candidates must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays as scheduled. (usually every other weekend)

Pay

$17.00-$20.00 per hour

Starting pay will be based on experience, qualifications, shift, and responsibilities.

What Makes Someone Successful Here

The best fit for this position is someone who can keep track of a lot of moving pieces without losing the details. You'll need to be comfortable talking with customers and drivers, recognizing when something doesn't look right, asking questions, and taking action when needed.

You don't need to know everything on day one—we'll train you on our systems and processes. But you do need to be dependable, willing to learn, comfortable taking ownership, and able to think beyond simply completing the next task.

If you're good at communicating, catching details, solving problems, and keeping your head when things get busy, we'd love to hear from you.
