Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE (ELECTROTECH
1):
Troubleshoot and repair assemblies, subassemblies, products, and/or systems.
- Educated in the theory of electronics and have the ability to apply this theory in discussion with engineers in a manufacturing environment
- Interpret schematics and assembly diagrams and apply the knowledge in component‑level troubleshooting and repair of product
- Screw, solder, cement, press fits, or perform similar operations to join or secure parts in place
- Mount assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, on a printed circuit board
- Data collection as required
- Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases with understanding of test procedures
- Written Communication – Able to read and interpret written information

- Organizational Support – Follows policies and procedures
- Dependability – Follows instructions, responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions; completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan

- Safety and Security – Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly

- Education/Certification:
Associate’s degree in electronics or equivalent military or industry experience; competency in electronics theory - Required Knowledge:
- Understanding of the use of test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, power meters, signal generators, etc.
- Competent in electronics theory
- Competent through‑hole and surface‑mount soldering ability
- Experience
Required:- Understanding of electronics principles as it pertains to troubleshooting electronics
- Must be able to translate electronic schematics
- Skills/Abilities:
- Solid communication skills and ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels
- Solid practical skills in electronics manufacturing, schematic reading abilities, troubleshooting skills and use of common tools
- Repetitive motions:
Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers - Average visual abilities:
Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery - Physical strength:
Physically active position, climbing ladder, lifting boxes (up to 30 lbs), pushing carts, stooping and bending
