Summary :
The Paramedic performs in a nursing support role with a variety of direct care functions under general supervison by licensed team members including RN, Physician, and/or APC.

• Receives direction and assignments from licensed team members and provides technical support to optimize patient care
• Reports on the condition of the patient to the appropriate licensed team members to ensure safe, quality patient care
• Completes accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
• Reinforces patient education performed by the RN
• Assists with patient transport to other departments as needed based on patient condition
• Assists with maintaining a safe and clean environment to perform patient care
• Administers medications under the general supervision of the RN or Provider in accordance with the Theda Care-approved Paramedic medication list

• Completion of Paramedic Program
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire
• Paramedic license for the State of WI
• America Heart Association ACLS & PALS within 6 months of hire
• For the Oshkosh Expansion Hospital and Theda Care Medical Center Fond Du Lac:
  High School diploma is required

• Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of fifty (50) pounds without assistance
• Job classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties

• Work Environment Frequent exposure to sharp objects and instruments Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock
• Occasional high noise level in work environment
• Possible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and pharmacological agents
• Occasional contact with aggressive and or combative patients
