Job Description
PEAK Genetics is seeking a Livestock Specialist – Bull Handler in Shawano, WI. The role involves supporting the daily care, health, and collection of elite bulls, as well as maintaining facilities and equipment. The position is full‑time and includes benefits such as health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and wellness programs.
Hours Available- Monday‑Friday, 4:30am – 1:30pm, with rotational weekends and holidays
- Handle sires of varying ages and sizes in a calm, confident manner for optimum production
- Work within a system using established protocols
- Perform regular livestock care including feeding, cleaning, moving cattle, assisting with health testing and veterinary treatments, and other routine tasks
- Operate company farm equipment and vehicles
- Clean and maintain buildings, grounds, and equipment
- Comfortable working with large animals
- Willingness to learn and follow company protocols
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Ability to perform occasional planned weekend duties
- Capability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds
- Capacity to work on feet and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to move safely through a tight space of 13‑15 feet to exit livestock pens in case of emergency
- Previous livestock handling experience
- Experience detecting health and disease symptoms in cattle
- Ability to perform basic equipment and building maintenance repairs
- Post‑secondary education in agriculture or related field
- Basic computer skills working with Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently and in a fast‑paced, team environment
- Effective communicator with attention to detail
- Keen sense of attention to safe working practices and strong awareness of surroundings
- Willingness to grow and develop both personally and professionally
