The Office of the Kansas Attorney General (OAG) is accepting applications to fill an Administrative Specialist position in our Concealed Carry Licensing Unit within our Civil Division. This position will assist with processing conceal carry licensing initial and renewal applications.
Under the direction of the Licensing Unit Director, the individual selected to fill this position will perform duties to include, but not limited to the following:
PRIMARY DUTIES
* Processes incoming initial and renewal applications for the CCLU by opening the mail, updating applicant/licensee information in the database, printing and attaching a check sheet to the applications, logging fees, preparing daily deposits to the OAG's fiscal division, and communicating with applicants/licensees to resolve incomplete applications
* Answers multi-line telephones promptly and courteously, provide licensing information to persons inquiring about the CCLU, PDLU, or BEALU programs
* Assists in printing weekly CCLU approval notices and mailing them to licensees
* Assists in preparing, printing and mailing renewal reminder notices to concealed carry licensees who will expire in 120 days
* Processes returned CCLU mail by noting any licensees who have moved out-of-state; checking for errors with any addresses and making corrections
* Monitors CCLU general email box, processing address changes, answering questions, updating licensee information, and responding to requests submitted electronically
* Scans and indexes applications and other related documents
* Assists (backup) with submitting fingerprints to KBI for background checks for CCLU, PDLU and BEALU and providing any criminal history responses investigators and/or legal for follow-up and final review
* As needed (backup), assists in processing incoming new and renewal applications for the PDLU (private detectives, detective agencies, detective firearm permits, and firearm instructors) and BEALU (Bail Enforcement Agents) by opening mail, updating applicant and licensee information in the databases, completing a check sheet for the applications, logging fees received, and preparing the daily deposit to the OAG's fiscal division for those Units
* Assists (backup) with logging complaints filed against private detectives, detective agencies, or bail enforcement agents and relaying the complaints to investigators and/or legal for any follow-up or final review

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Graduate from a high school accredited by the Kansas State Board of Education or the appropriate accrediting agency of another state jurisdiction or have obtained the equivalent of a high school education.
