Paraprofessional – Center Based – Part Time (.5 FTE)

De Soto Unified School District – Belmont Elementary School (2025‑26 School Year)

The Resource Paraprofessional assists the instructor in creating a positive work environment to facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of students. The role involves monitoring student behavior and providing necessary information to school personnel.

• Assist the classroom instructor in daily classroom activities.
• Support the social and emotional development of students.
• Monitor student behavior and report concerns.
• Collaborate with school staff to maintain a safe and productive learning environment.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with children (preferred).
• Current certification of Health, including a negative TB test.
• Completion of a clear, criminal background check.

Starting salary: $17.50 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Schedule:

3.75 hours per day, 18.75 hours per week (classified, 174‑day work‑day calendar).

• All employees must have a current TB test (Tuberculosis). A recent test (less than 12 months) is acceptable; otherwise a new test is required. The employee is responsible for the cost of the test.
• Must submit a pre‑employment physical prior to the first day of work.
• Must submit and maintain a valid Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) health certification.
