Senior Machinist

Thea Energy is leveraging recent breakthroughs in stellarator physics and engineering to create a faster and simpler approach to commercializing fusion energy. The company is reinventing the stellarator using computer-controlled arrays of planar coils thereby replacing the intricate, complex modular magnets required in all other stellarator architectures. Thea Energy is on a mission to create a limitless source of zero emission energy for a sustainable future.

We are seeking an experienced and quality-driven Senior Machinist to program, operate, set up, and maintain our machine shop operations as we pioneer next-generation fusion energy technology. In this hands-on role, you will bridge the gap between rapid R&D prototyping and small-run production, operating both manual equipment and 3-axis CNC machines to fabricate high-precision components. You will be responsible for end-to-end machining execution from reading complex technical drawings and programming toolpaths using High-Efficiency Machining techniques to performing setup, quality inspection, and routine CNC equipment troubleshooting.

Working directly alongside engineering and production teams in a fast-paced environment, you will optimize workflows and contribute directly to building zero-emission stellarator architectures.

It’s not necessary to meet all of the skillsets outlined above. Please feel free to send us a note and tell us why you would still be a great fit for this role or Thea Energy.
