Qualifications
  • Certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Responsibilities
  • Enhancing the clinical care and quality of life of our residents, ensuring that all resident rights are protected
  • Preparing and administering medications as ordered by the physician
  • Checking all residents daily to ensure that prescribed treatment is being properly administered by nursing personnel/assistants and evaluating their physical and emotional status
  • Keeping the RN Supervisor informed about the status of residents, staff and related matters
  • Implementing recommended changes as directed by the RN Supervisor or the Director of Nurses
  • Administering professional services such as catheterization, tube feeding, suction, applying and changing dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy and drainage bags, taking blood, sputum, and urine specimens, etc., as established by the facility’s policies and procedures
  • Completing all LPN required record keeping forms/charts upon the resident’s admission, discharge, transfer, etc., and filing in the resident’s chart or forwarding to the appropriate department
  • Giving and receiving nursing reports upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours
  • Investigating complaints and grievances and making necessary oral/written reports to the RN Supervisor or Director of Nurses
  • Presenting in a professional image to residents and families through dress, behavior and speech
  • Adhering to our policies and standards
