Cashier

Join the City of Shawnee, KS for the Cashier role at our municipal pools. Work will involve customer service and teamwork in a fun environment. Salary begins at $11.00 per hour, with additional compensation for employees who return after each season.

Position Responsibilities
  • Greet all patrons in a polite and courteous manner
  • Take orders and serve customers
  • Fill out daily reports
  • Operate the cash register and maintain accurate funds; distribute correct change; balance the cash drawer daily at the end of shift
  • Clean workplace areas
  • Inform Manager of items to order
  • Follow correct procedures for admittance at front gates
  • Always conduct yourself in a professional manner
  • Perform other related duties as requested or assigned by the Pool Manager or Aquatics Director
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 14 years of age or older by May 31, 2026
  • Cash register experience is preferred
  • Must successfully pass a written math test
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification or ability to obtain certification prior to beginning employment
