Payroll Specialist

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing the bi‑weekly payroll and ensuring the labor hours from data collection interface properly into the payroll software.

Responsibilities

• Process electronic batches daily and enter manual timecards.
• Calculate the bi‑weekly payroll and ensure its completion and accuracy.
• Calculate travel pay for employees.
• Prepare a variety of reports and provide payroll information as requested.
• Reconcile all payroll liabilities and receivable accounts by compiling and generating reports.
• Manage contract employee hours and invoices.
• Oversee the year‑end process including W2s, system change‑over, and new benefits.
• Assist with bank and check reconciliations.
• Collaborate with others to proactively develop key competencies.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Accounting preferred.
• 2‑3 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of TCM (Workwise) and Ceridian software a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with emphasis in Excel and Word.
• Strong mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Ability to develop, write, and follow procedures.
