Senior Process Engineer - Operations Performance Improvement (OPI)

Join Johnsonville’s Operations Performance Improvement (OPI) Team to improve safety, quality, yield and efficiency across our manufacturing network. As a Senior Process Engineer, you will drive continuous improvement and support both on‑campus and remote facilities using data analysis, process optimization, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Support manufacturing facilities, leverage engineering knowledge, and continuously improve processes to deliver the best performance.

• Drive improvements in safety, quality, yield and efficiency through problem solving and process optimization.
• Lead and participate in cross‑functional teams for equipment and process improvement.
• Collaborate with Reliability (TPM) Team on focused improvement initiatives.
• Build partnerships with Operations, Food Safety/Quality, R&D and Engineering to ensure project implementation.
• Monitor sustainment of process changes.
• Conduct statistical analysis and simulation studies using Minitab, Glentech, Arena, or other software.
• Engage members in data collection and ownership of changes/tracking.
• Complete line/equipment studies to determine current and theoretical throughput/capacity.
• Complete time studies to develop production staffing standards across the network.
• Recommend equipment use or improvement in collaboration with Plant Maintenance/Engineering Coordinators and Project Engineers.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations or a related field.
• Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing certification.

• Minimum 7 years of manufacturing facility experience.
• Minimum 7 years of experience utilizing statistics and/or Statistical Process Control with demonstrable results.

• Knowledge of process optimization tools and simulation software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong data analysis skills.
• Effective problem solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Understanding of Reliability (TPM) concepts.
• Application of time and motion studies.
• Demonstrated project management skills.
• Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Minitab).
• Excellent facilitation skills for root cause analysis and Kaizen events.
• Ability to teach process change knowledge.
• Self‑starter, initiative‑driven.
• Prioritization and multitasking in fast‑paced environments with minimal supervision.

Travel:
Approximately 30% of your time.
