Overview

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for accomplishing department objectives by supervising staff as well as organizing and monitoring work processes.
  • Develops schedules, assigns and monitors work, gathers resources, and implements productivity standards while maintaining Quality processes and procedures.
  • Plans, monitors, and appraises job results; conducts training and maintains department training records via a training matrix.
  • Under the direction of the Quality Manager, performs duties including receiving activities in ERP, moving transactions in ERP, entering information into Quality Database, and supporting quality containment areas (NCM, PPAP, RTV, RMA, etc.).
  • Performs receiving inspection activities, issues Nonconforming Material processes, inspects products using gauges, testers, and test fixtures, and completes ISIR or first-piece inspection processes.
  • Maintains control plans in the Quality Database and generates ECN (Engineering Change Notification) requests; updates and controls documents; issues CARs (Corrective Action/Preventive Action); and contacts suppliers on NCMRs and CARs.
  • Measures GD&T and calculates tolerances; issues supplier PPAP requirements and reviews supplier PPAPs and supplier CARs.
  • Assists with Customer RMA's and MRB reviews; conducts and leads internal ISO audits and supplier audits.
  • Runs CMM programs and supports quality data analysis; ensures calibration procedures and monitoring of measuring devices.
  • Leads training, onboarding of new hires, and ensures a clean and safe work environment; performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in a Quality environment.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and GD&T callouts; basic knowledge of GD&T.
  • Proficient with gages and measurement devices (optical comparator, spring force tester, gage balls, concentricity gages, thread micrometer, bore gages, caliper, micrometer, thread gages, indicators, gage pins, height-stand/drop indicators, etc.).
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook; ability to create formulas in MS Excel; ability to collect data for capability studies and Gage R&R studies.
  • Understanding of FMEA, Control Plans, and Process maps; strong understanding of capability indices (Sigma, Cpk, Ppk) and Gage R&R; ability to enter and generate capability and Gage R&R charts in Mini Tab.
  • Experience running CMM programs (Trombetta trained) and knowledge of GD&T, including True Position, MMC, LMC.
  • Strong lead experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred;
    Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt is beneficial.
  • Ability to pass required Trombetta training for the Quality position.
Physical Demands

The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. May require walking on level surfaces during the day. Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds. Reaching above shoulder height and other physical activities may be required. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Extended use of computer and keyboarding; normal range of hearing.
