Job SummaryThe Controller is a key finance leader who delivers accurate financial insight , strengthens controls, and supports profitable growth across Sheboygan Paint Company. This role leads accounting , reporting, compliance , treasury , budgeting support, and analysis while partnering with operations , R&D, sales , and executive leadership. The Controller also develops the accounting team and promotes accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:Lead accurate , timely U.S. GAAP financial reporting.
Manage month-end , quarter-end, year-end, and tax deliverables .
Together with plant leadership, manage inventory reporting and processes.
Oversee internal controls, policies, and financial governance.
Manage insurance renewals and risk-management documentation.
Treasury ManagementManage cash activity, banking compliance, and liquidity planning.
Lead AR, AP, and general ledger process discipline.
Control fixed assets and capital spending records.
Business PartneringEnhance ERP, data governance, and dashboard reporting , turning business drivers into actionable financial insight.
Assist with CFO with the annual budgeting process.
Partner with the CFO and other leaders on forecasting and variance analysis.
Partner with the CFO and HR on benefits administration.
Leadership & Team DevelopmentCoach and develop the accounting team.
Set expectations and reinforce accountability for quality and deadlines.
Promote accuracy, transparency, ownership, and partnership.
RequirementsEducation:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required .
Experience:5 to 8 years of progressive accounting experience.
2 + years in a leadership role.
Experience in manufacturing required .
Experience with cost accounting and inventory management preferred.
Knowledge &Skills:
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Manufacturing finance expertise , including cost accounting, inventory controls, and operational performance analysis.
Experience with ERP systems, Power BI or similar reporting tools, advanced Excel, and financial modeling.
Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, including the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial leaders.
